Catch-Up & Cleanup Bookkeeping for Minnesota Small Businesses
Months — or years — behind? No lectures. We reconcile the past, fix what's miscoded, get you tax-ready, and then keep the books clean going forward.
How cleanup works
From backlog to tax-ready, in a clear sequence
- AssessWe review your QuickBooks file (or start one), see what's missing, and give you a plan and a project quote before any work begins.
- GatherYou send statements and access; we handle the rest. A short checklist, not a scavenger hunt.
- Reconcile month by monthEvery bank, credit card and loan account balanced to its statement, in order, until the books match reality.
- Fix and cleanDuplicates, miscoded expenses, undeposited funds, stale receivables and payables — and a chart of accounts that finally makes sense.
- DeliverTax-ready financial statements for each period, handed to your CPA with notes on what we changed and why.
- Stay cleanRoll straight into monthly bookkeeping so it never piles up again.
What we'll ask you for

Common situations we clean up
Haven't reconciled in months
The bank balance in QuickBooks and the real bank balance stopped agreeing a while ago.
Your bookkeeper left
Or the person doing it was you, and the business got busier. There's a gap nobody has closed.
Tax deadline is coming
Your CPA needs clean books, and a shoebox and a bank login isn't going to work.
Spreadsheets to QuickBooks
You've outgrown the spreadsheet and need the history set up properly, not just from today forward.
A lender or buyer asked for financials
You need statements that tie out for a loan, a line of credit or a sale — quickly and credibly.
Something feels off
Balances don't make sense, a payment is missing, or you suspect an error. We find it and fix it.
No judgment
We've seen it all — and we don't lecture
Falling behind on the books is one of the most common things that happens to a growing business. Our job isn't to make you feel bad about it. It's to get you current, explain what we found in plain language, and set you up so it doesn't happen again. Practical. Personal. Dependable.
Common questions
Cleanup questions we hear most
How long does catch-up bookkeeping take?
It depends on how many months are behind and how many accounts and transactions there are. After a quick review of your file we'll give you a timeline and a project quote — and we'll prioritize the periods your CPA or lender needs first.
How do you price cleanup work?
As a project, quoted after we review your file, so you know the cost before we start. Ongoing monthly bookkeeping is quoted separately once you're current.
Can you finish before my tax deadline?
Usually, if we start early enough. If the timeline is tight we'll tell you up front and coordinate an extension with your CPA rather than rush the numbers. Tell us your deadline when you reach out.
Do I have to switch to QuickBooks Online?
No. We work in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. If you're on spreadsheets today, we'll help you set up whichever version fits — see our comparison.
Will you work with my CPA?
Yes. We deliver clean, tax-ready financial statements for each period and answer your CPA's questions directly, so tax prep goes faster and costs less.
Where are you located?
We're based in Minnesota and clean up books for small businesses across the state, including Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding Twin Cities metro. The work happens in your accounting platform, so you won't need to drop off a box of receipts.
Ready to get current?
Tell us how far behind you are — even roughly — and we'll come back with a plan and a quote.
